Gold Star Families

We recognize the sacrifice that all Gold Star Family members make when a father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, or other loved one dies in service to the nation.

Our Heroes

We represent any hero who died as a result of fighting for our freedoms. No dues here - you paid those on the battlefield.*

6+

years of service

Bridges For The Fallen (BFTF) was founded April 12, 2012 in Harwich, Massachusetts by a Patriot named Rob Mador.  His intention was to find a way that a civilian could serve his country in a truly meaningful way.

50+

states with bridges dedicated

It all started with one bridge for a fallen Navy SEAL that grew up near Rob. After that bridge dedication, he received 2 more requests from other SEAL families and this where BFTF hit the ground running.  Soon requests were coming in from all branches of the military and from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam.

1400+

bridges requested

BFTF never had any intentions of doing more than one bridge, but it morphed into something amazing that helps surviving family members cope with the loss and begin the road to healing.  While most of the families, friends, comrades and community members have been able to mourn the loss of their fallen hero, seldom have that had the opportunity to come together to celebrate the life of the fallen hero and we found that being able to celebrate the life is the gateway to healing.

The Bridge

The bridge is a symbol of strength, honor and respect and it becomes part of the families/fallen warriors legacy and history.  The bridge will pass the torch onto countless generations and show them who the fallen warrior was and their sacrifice to our nation.
The bridge is a mechanism of healing and we are proud, honored and humbled to serve our  nation's fallen heroes and their families.

Over time the family's tears of sorrow have slowly turned into appreciation for Patrick's life, and his name on a well-traveled bridge will remind everyone of his sacrifice.
